Insecurities of a Best Friend

Friends are people that you know who will support you during the good and the bad times of your life.  But jealous friends will be delighted when you are in trouble, or you have a crisis in your life.  It is indeed a difficult situation to deal with jealousy from a friend.  If it becomes ugly, you do not have anywhere else to go but away, and nothing to do but give up.

What of the following will you do when your best friend is insecure or is a jealous type?

Yes, one of the easiest thing to say is for you to understand, or try to understand.  A friend is jealous or insecure because he or she does not have what you have.  It can begin with the most simple things, like a beautiful purse, and grow big as time goes by.

It is important that you take time to note your best friends' lack.  Is he or she short of attention from others?  Or was not touched or treated nicely most of the time?  Does he or she have a love life?  Not that pretty?  Has a small salary or is unemployed?  Does she lack enough new apparel or outfit, or even intellect, or anything that he or she can be proud of?  If he or she does have enough not to be insecure or jealous of you, what are the things that your best friend lacks?

There must be something about your traits that affect your best friend.  It would be easy to know.  Observe how he or she reacts when you decide on things, or how you act upon situations or conditions.  Most of the time, it is your composure that the best friend is envy of.

Yes, it may seem an awkward thing to do.  But let your best friend know that you also wish of things that she has.  If she says, "Your bag is beautiful!", you can tell her that you like her bag better than your bag.  That way, she would ponder on thoughts that she also have some things that others can be jealous of.  This will help tone down the insecurity or the jealousy.

Help your best friend gather the confidence that he or she needs.  It is the lack of it that makes him or her insecure.  Praise her if need be to boost confidence.  Congratulate your best friend about the successes he or she gained and if he or she ask for help about decisions in life to succeed, do not hesitate to help.

Do not delay telling your best friend his bad traits.  It is not reason that you have these things she is jealous of or is insecure of that your best friend has to criticize or bad-mouth you.  Let your best friend realize his or her mistakes but if he or she is not willing to do it, part ways.

Put that expectation on hand. Make your best friend feel that you anticipate support when you need it. Let him or her feel that she is needed. If in spite of your humbling acts, your best friend still delights if you are happy or successful, then he or she is not worth to be called your best friend.
