Looking for the Best Doctor

Nobody likes to see a doctor. But we need to see a doctor when we do not feel alright or when we have to avoid getting more sick or when we need to counteract a seemingly more serious illness.

It truly is difficult to get sick much more encounter a doctor that seems not to care and does not show interest, or one that seems lacking in knowledge about your illness. There are these types of doctors who do not bother to ask what you specifically need or what your ailments are. These are the types of doctors who are more interested about your insurance, but do not care to greet you with a smile and a 'hi' or a 'hello'.

Not all patients have insurances or have lots of money for the health care so why does it have to be the introduction? But do not worry much, there are lots of excellent doctors who are truly experts in their field and are also considerate. The question is how to look for the best doctors.

1. Ask your co-workers or co-employees.

Ask your co-workers or co-employees to whom do they consult their sicknesses.  Take note of the things that they like or dislike about the doctors they will mention.  You can try to go to the same hospital where they go and visit.  Your co-workers or co-employees will tell you the best doctor in the said hospital.

2. Ask family members and close friends.

Ask your family members what made them like the doctor they are referring to you.

3. Call up a foundation.

If you have a specific illness that requires the attention of a specialist or an expert, call up a foundation.  For example, you are experiencing chest pains.  The foundation could recommend a doctor for you.  This is preferable than instantly going to a doctor you do not know, or is not recommended by anyone or an institution.

4. Ask your support group.

If you have a support group, ask them.  Good feedback will be given to you for sure because they have already underwent the state or condition you are in at present, and were treated well by the doctors they will mention.

5. Do not hesitate to ask your potential doctor.

If you have enough time, ask all the questions you would like to ask from your potential doctor. List down first your questions and other important information you would want to know before meeting your doctor.

6. Know your doctor.

Even if a doctor is an excellent student before when he graduated, or was known to be an expert in his field but is not approachable and difficult to communicate with, then look for another doctor.  Some patients maybe are comfortable with the doctor and gets good results, but some others are not.  Know what specifically will click with you and the doctor.

7. Promote your doctor.

Tell others about the doctor that made you well, or had treated you right. These doctors need referrals and a good track record being a doctor. Your free promotion will truly help these doctors.
