Love or Compatibility, which will make a relationship work?

What would bring greater happiness – a relationship between two compatible individuals minus love, or a relationship that stemmed from feelings of love but the two individuals are incompatible?  What would be more important of the two – love or compatibility?

Some say that a man and a woman who love each other so much but are not compatible will end in misery.  Because in the long run, the incompatibility will surface and that would cause the despair.  On the other hand, when a man or a woman does not love each other but are in every way compatible, the relationship will prosper.  The two individuals will eventually become close because of the friendship or that special feeling that they have for each other, and because they are happy being together even without initially loving each other.

The mystery of compatibility they say which is also known as chemistry makes relationships prosper or progress. The chemical compositions within the inner selves make it work for two people to be happy with each other.  Talking to one who is not of the same chemistry leaves that feeling of emptiness or voids that result to an unhappy feeling.  There is this undefined barrier between the two.

Take for instance two individuals that met unexpectedly in a certain place and were introduced to each other.  Sooner or later they conversed with each other then both felt that they were very happy together.  The following day they felt this feeling of longing or desiring to be with each other again.  This explains that they have the same body chemistry.  There is this mysterious chemical within themselves that make them feel happy when they see each other.

What do you think will work (or worked) for your relationship?  Is it love or compatibility?

For me, I stand to my belief that love is more important in a relationship.  I do not deny the fact that partners must be compatible in some ways to make a relationship work.  But love transcends everything and anything and life is not perfect.   Harmony is important but I still believe that without love, it will not be there.  When two people are like-minded and they have congruent ideas to a matter that makes them compatible but are both opinionated, how cannot a misunderstanding arise?  Without love, compatibility will be meaningless.

As much as others believe otherwise, I believe that love still conquers all. It makes things in a not so perfect world workable.
