There is No Guarantee

It is a dreadful feeling to hear news that a co-employee or co-worker was brought to the hospital. It was just the other day that I was talking to him and now he is afflicted with stroke.

Life has no guarantee. Today you are healthy, tomorrow you are sick. It would be a good thing if you are just simply ill. Today you are with your loved one, tomorrow he or she is already with another, or you are already with another. Today you are happy with your friends, tomorrow they become your enemies. Today you have money, tomorrow you lack enough to sustain your needs.

It is actually frightening to ponder. That is why it makes me wonder why people indulge so much with more money, or wealth, or celebrations and feasts. Mankind never stopped working to gain more money or wealth. No question if they come or are acquired by good means but the trouble is even with evil schemes, and with unscrupulous connections and favors, mankind strive to have more money or wealth.

It is worrisome to think that the Lord maybe reaping our souls tomorrow. What face (I mean spirit) do we have to face Him? I think we really have to be serious about our own spiritual living because all of us, no exception, will pass away. To dust we return.

There is no guarantee about anything and everything. Therefore we have to keep treasures that we can bring when we die. All of the material riches in the world cannot be brought to where we go when we die.

There is no guarantee about anything and everything. Therefore we have to do what can give happiness to our loved ones and to our neighbors. This is legacy that cannot be forgotten and will not vanish.

There is no satisfaction in everything. Therefore hug the ones you love more often and tell them that you love them. Make them feel real love. Do what must be done for your parents before they leave this world. Forgive the people who had wronged you in any way you can. Understand your own weaknesses, and others' failures.

I sound like a preacher, yes? But I am serious. I suddenly thought of that co-worker. People take pity but they still talk about the bad things he did. And I don't want to be remembered like that. I want people to remember me beautifully though I know there will be no way for me to know that anymore when the time comes.

There is no guarantee, so we prepare...

Very touching. Topics like this make me think of the people who refuse to talk to their parents or parents disowning their children due to certain issues. What they don't realise is that when one of them dies, the pain of the malice they kept, will eat away at their hearts and then its too late to put things right. Keep these nice Hubs coming Bingskee. :)

hi, internpete. thank you for reminding me of the Lord Jesus's grace. but i was thinking of guarantee as to living longer. anytime we die, so there is no guarantee that one will not. and that can happen anytime.
